Have given www.moochandsam.net a bit of a freshen up. For a start there’s a new splash screen as an entry point to our various sites and web prescences.

I’ve also cleaned up this blog quite a bit – it had become nothing more than a series of del.icio.us and twitter posts.

Next step is to update the categories and sort out a problem with image links. Back to work then!

The Friday5.org meme again …

  1. If you get the first choice of Monopoly tokens, which do you choose? If someone else chooses it first, which is your second choice?
My first choice is always the dog (I bet you already guessed that though!) My second choice would be the car – simply because it looks so cool.
  2. What’s a board game you are especially bad at?
Hmmm … a hard one. Probably Pictionary. My drawing and guessing skills are pretty sad.
  3. What board game are you particularly good at?
I’m not bad a Trivial Pursuit, but Monopoly would be my strong points.
  4. How competitive do you get while playing board games or party games?
Reasonably competitive. It’s only a game though ;-)
  5. What’s your favorite board game? What’s a board game you can’t stand?
My favourite board game is Monopoly. One I can’t stand is … this is hard, I’m a real geek and I like most board games … probably MouseTrap because it takes so long to set up and then the gameplay isn’t that exciting or challenging.

It’s been a while since I’ve done the Friday5.org meme … I’m such a slacker at these things …

  1. What’s something you were into before it became popular?
Computers and the internet. I was in to them back when only geeks thought they were cool. Well, no other girls at my school thought they were cool anyway.
  2. What’s something you were reluctant to jump on the bandwagon with, but now are totally into?
Blogging. I didn’t get it to start with. Then I started reading the odd blog entry here and there, then there were a few that became regular reads, then I got my first RSS reader to manage them all … and the next thing I knew I’d started my own blog or two as well.
  3. What’s a current trend or fad you just don’t get?
All that jackass stuff. It just seems so pointless.
  4. If you could turn any current fondness of yours into a popular trend, what would it be?
Probably journaling. Turn everyone into writers, artists and personal historians.
  5. What’s something that’s totally uncool that you love anyway?
My daggy flannette pajamas. Mooch calls them my “Passion Killers” ;-)

This week’s installment of the Friday5.org meme.

1. We’re buying you a lifetime subscription to any magazine or periodical journal you want! What’ll it be?
Hmmm … a hard decision! I currently subscribe to Australian Homespun, it’s a craft and sewing magazine that’s also a great read, so that would be pretty high on my list. For a lifetime subscription though I might be more inclined to look at something like Wired! or perhaps a lifestyle magazine like Australian House & Garden.

2. We’re buying you any existing non-chain, one-location-only store and giving you an expert lifetime manager, so that all you have to do is make decisions and watch them succeed or fail! What will be the store, and what will be your first change?
I can’t think of a specific existing one that I’d seriously like to own. If anything, probably an independent book store. The first change I would make would be to build a strong online presence. I’d also build up a lot of group activities and loyalty events around the business.

3. We’re buying you any house within a one-mile radius of your own! Which one do you want, and why?
It’s a little over 1 mile away, but there was a large renovated house on Denmark Hill with heaps of room, a modern look and feel inside, a swimming pool and a great view. That, or one very similar, would be the one. Otherwise, if I could go further afield, I’d look at building a huge new one a Augustine Heights or somewhere similar.

4. We’re hiring someone to take care of any ONE specific household chore (except cooking) for the rest of your life! Which chore will he or she attend to?
It would be the cleaning, the bathroom to be specific. That would be wonderful.

5. We’re providing the start-up capital for any crazy idea for a business, service, or product you can dream up, giving you total creative control while we finance your dream for five years, after which it must fail or succeed on its own merit! What will it be?
Easy one! A software development company employing 5 or so developers. It would develop a couple of earthbreaking new web applications (not telling you my ideas though ;-) ).
