Took a little longer than I first thought – the top one was soooooo long, the hems took forever

I’m very happy with the result though. The red gingham curtains I had on this window had faded in the sunlight and were looking quite sad, so these lovely country ones jazz things up quite a bit.

… with cushions, but my home is surprisingly unadorned by them. So now that I’ve mastered sewing simple curtains I think it’s time to attempt a few cute cushions to make the lounge room more comfy.

Hmmm, there’s some of this country fabric left over from the curtains …

I think I have to count this one. We only went for two nights, but in those two nights and three days I swear we crammed more holiday stuff in than we normally do in a week away!

Today’s happiness:

1. Watching all that decluttered stuff drive out of my driveway on the back of a ute. Priceless
2. Time spent in the garden with Jag, enjoying the winter sunshine. Such great weather for this time of year – the Ekka finished yesterday and we don’t seem to have had the usual westerly winds.
3. My wonderful hubby Tez went and got groceries while Jag and I walked down to visit Grandma. When we got home I discovered that he’d bought me not one, not two, but THREE treats. Love that man

The fabric for these curtains has been sitting in my craft box for ages and I noticed it again today while tidying up the sunroom. It occurred to me that this is a “Finish what I Start” project, and so a few minutes later out it came. It’s only one window, so it shouldn’t take too much work to do.

So far I’ve measured twice, cut once and ironed and pinned all the hems – just getting ready to sew now. Can I get these done this afternoon? Can I finish what I start?

Today’s happiness:

1. Getting up and going to the gym for a workout even though I didn’t feel like it (woke up with a toothache ) I walked up to gym with Jag in the sling and he had a great time stretching to see everything that we were passing. It’s a bit harder work than the stroller, he’s getting very heavy! But it’s kind of like walking while having a big cuddle.
2. Booked for the dentist tomorrow. Dentist’s don’t really scare me, but this will be the first time at a new dentist and I am in a fair bit of pain. But super happy that I made the appointment.

Today’s happiness:

1. Went to the dentist with a really bad toothache and a broken tooth. Had a wisdom tooth extracted on the spot. Not happy about that, but am happy that it was all very quick, didn’t cost me the earth and to be honest didn’t really hurt that much afterwards
2. Happy too that I’m not an “afraid-of-the-dentist” person. No stress about going, just got to sit back in the chair while they worked and checked out all the cool technology.
3. Jag almost crawled forwards! This is a huge step – so far he only goes backwards and gets quite frustrated. Today he has been pulling himself up on his knees while holding on to one of his toys then pushing the toy across the floor while still in the upright position. Tonight he tried it in the crawling position and crept forwards a little. He’s slowly working it all out.
